Kentucky vs. Indiana 3/23/ plus Bobby Knight Saga
|March 20, 2012||Posted by GoBigBlue under Anthony Davis, The Sad Story of Bobby Knight, University of Kentucky News|
There is not an honest Indiana fan that doesn't realize that IU's victory over UK in December of 2011 was a fluke. Indiana is the only team to beat Kentucky during the regular season. If that game had been played anywhere other than in Bloomington on IU's home court the out come would have been different. In 40+ years of watching basketball I cannot recall ever seeing a louder crowd more into it.
At Kentucky Dunks we think the University of Kentucky basketball team will draw blood this time. They will be focused and ready on Friday!
Bob Knight refused to say ‘Kentucky’ this weekend
Bob Knight refused to say "Kentucky" during weekend segments on ESPN, drawing criticism from media critics who believe Knight's actions harm college basketball and warrant a full independent investigation.
The former Indiana coach referred to top-seeded Kentucky as that "team from the SEC" while avoiding uttering the proper name of the school on Saturday. Knight has never hid his disdain for the Wildcats or his antipathy toward coach John Calipari.
ESPN refused to comment on the situation.
Judging by comments from respected media critics like Richard Deitsch, I must be the only one who finds this amusing and doesn't think Knight's juvenile behavior besmirches ESPN's credibility. This is mainly because I long ago stopped harboring delusions about ESPN's credibility.
BOBBY KNIGHT HAS BEEN OUT OF CONTROL FOR YEARS!
Saturday March 24th 2012
The Number 1 seed, University of Kentucky basketball team won a shootout with Indiana at the Georgia Dome last night. The final score was 102 – 90. and I think 102 is the highest number of points scored by any team in the NCAA tournament so far this year.
After the loss on December 10th in Bloomington, the payback factor made this victory even that much sweeter.
Davis only played 6 minutes of the first half because of foul trouble, but Terrance Jones went to war especially during the first half.
Kid Gilchrist lead all scorers with 24 and had 10 rebounds. Deron Lamb and Darius Miller had their best games of the tournament so far.
Next for Kentucky is Baylor at 2:20 on Sunday afternoon.
